WINDING DOWN 2004

So, another year has come and gone and Saturday is the first day of 2005, a year which for myself may bring upon many changes. One major event really sticking out for me is my graduation from the UCC journalism program, and after 18 years of going to school (elementary, secondary, post-secondary combined) there's the probability that I won't be attending school in September. I said probability because nothing is set in stone yet, and I have expressed interest in going back for a two-year Sports Event Management diploma. However, it's unlikely I'll go back right away because I need a short break from school. Plus, I haven't even applied yet so who knows if I'd get in anyhow. I figure with a journalism degree I might as well go do some sports reporting in a small town somewhere and see how it goes.

While 2004 did have it's share of changes and events affecting my life, many things stable in my life remained so, like my return to Kamloops for school in September. After graduation in June, who knows if I'll ever live in Kamloops again. It's likely only a good job or return to school would bring me back to that city. It's more likely I'd return to Prince George for a little while.

As 2005 nears, I'm preparing for change, and when it comes I won't be surprised. This could be a year in which I'll find my future wife, dream job and maybe even the town where I'll start my career. Who knows.

MY STAY IN PRINCE GEORGE

New Years aside, another stop in Prince George is winding down for myself. It was a nice relaxing stay in which I was able to catch up with some old friends, see family and finally see someone I'd been excited about meeting in person for a while.

Thank goodness I got a discman for Christmas. Now I have some music to listen to on the Greyhound trip back to Kamloops tomorrow. I just hope there isn't another engine failure and I'm not stuck on a bus with no electricity for over an hour like on my way up here.

Well, until today I haven't posted in a while. While I can just say I've been busy like I do other times, that isn't true. Basically, aside from my new job at Athletes World, there hasn't been a lot of new changes in my life so therefore nothing new or exciting to post about. So if I don't have another post in about a month or so, don't be alarmed. But be expecting at least a few posts from the Canadian University Press Conference, which runs in Edmonton beginning in a few weeks. Someone needs to carry the tradition Mike started last year. Speaking of which, Mike told me in person he'll have a link to all the stories and pictures from Newfoundland soon enough, so be ready for that.

I'm off to Sun Peaks for New Years. I hope everyone else has fun ringing in the new year in a drunk, yet safe way. Cheers!
